Prasanna’s wife questioned by FCID regarding financial fraud
The wife of Prasanna Ranatunga, the Chief Minister for Western PC, has been questioned by the FCID regarding a land deal.
The questioning is regarding a complaint by a person from Moratuwa who alleged that Ranatunga had solicited a bribe of Rs. 64 million to give approval to fill a land a build a building. According to the complain Ranatunga had accepted a bribe of Rs. 15 million by a cheque written in his wife's name.
The Financial Crimes Investigations Division recently filed a case with the Fort Magistrate Courts against Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
