Musicians around the world pay tribute to the Grateful Dead’s ‘Ripple’
On the day when the Grateful Dead plays its final concert in Chicago, an organization called Playing for Change released a heartwarming video of musicians around the world performing “Ripple,” which was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, and first released in 1970.
Playing for Change bills itself as a “multimedia movement created to inspire, connect and bring peace to the world through music.”
Featured in the video are musicians from Argentina, the Congo and New Orleans, along with David Hildago of Los Lobos and Billy Kreutzmann of the Dead. Jimmy Buffett and David Crosby also contributed to the effort.
