Bomb threat forces Turkish Airlines flight to make emergency landing at Delhi Airport
A Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Delhi’s international airport on Tuesday (July 7th) afternoon after reports of a “bomb threat.”
The plane, which was flying from Bangkok to Istanbul, was diverted to Delhi after the pilot reportedly told the Air Traffic Controllers that a message written in lipstick on a mirror in a bathroom warned of a bomb in the cargo.
The plane was then guided to the Delhi airport and it landed safely at round 1.41 pm. It was taken to an isolated bay and 148 passengers were evacuated.
No explosive or anything suspicious has been found so far, say sources.
Commandos of the National Security Guard and the police are searching the plane. They will examine every piece of luggage, said sources.
An emergency meeting of airport, civil aviation and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security officials is on.
