“MSM India” gets Indian tour commercial rights: Sri Lanka Cricket
July 08, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka Cricket has awarded the commercial rights of the upcoming Indian Test tour to the owner of the popular Asian sports channel “Sony Six”, a media release said.
“MSM were granted global TV broadcast rights along with radio, internet and mobile rights for the territory outside Sri Lanka,” Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement.
“MSM were also awarded the sponsorship rights for the Indian Test tour,”
“The granting of rights to MSM was decided after SLC cancelled the initial tender process sighting the low value offered by the single bidder.”
SLC in the statement said it was confident that MSM will bring in cutting edge production technology to enhance the viewing experience of the global audience.
MSM offered a substantially higher figure to the satisfaction of SLC, the release said.
