The All Ceylon Teachers’ Union has charged that the restriction made by the Commissioner of Examinations regarding the conducting of discussions and seminars in line with the 2015 Advanced Level examination is a violation of the students basic rights.
Chief Secretary Joseph Stalin said that they had written to the Minister of Education regarding this concern. All support classes, lectures. and programmes affiliated to the 2015 Advanced Level Examinations will be banned from midnight Wednesday July 29.
Commissioner of Examination, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara said that the ban will be in effect until September 8.
News 1st made an inquiry from the Secretary to the Ministry of Education Upali Maarasingha regarding this decision taken by the Department of Examinations.
He said that no change can be made to the decision taken as it had already been issued in a gazette notification on a prior occasion.
