Sri Lanka has mooted an accelerated development programme. The Japanese delegation was of the view that there are broad opportunities for foreign investment.
Prime Minister D.M. Dayaratne told the delegation that several large scale development projects have been launched by countries such as South Korea and Iran. He said Sri Lanka highly appreciated foreign assistance received to maintain a strong economic growth rate. Japan’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Kunio Takahashi was present at this meeting.
