Anura Kumara speaks of former regime and appointments made
Addressing a public meeting in Akmeemana on Sunday August 2, JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake spoke about the nepotism that occurred in the former regime.
He said that when Mahinda Rajapaksa became president, he made his son an MP, his elder brother the Speaker, his other brother the Minister of Economic Development, the other brother the Defence Secretary, the elder brother’s son the Chief Minister, his wife’s elder brother the Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines, his aunt’s son the Ambassador of Russia and his cousin the Ambassador to the United States, adding that they do politics to solve their own issues.
Speaking further he noted ”So we say to you, that we will solve the main issues of the country. One, children’s education, two, source of income, three, houses to live in, four, a good health service and five, an efficient state administration.”
