TV presenter arrested for instigating violence through social media
A TV presenter has been arrested over allegations she instigated violence using social media.
The Police said that the TV presenter was among three suspects arrested for using social media to instigate mob violence last week.
According to the Police, the 39-year-old female TV presenter is a resident of Narahenpita.
The other two suspects who were arrested are residents of Nugegoda and Dikwella.
The Dikwella resident had used his social media to instigate violence against the Police and Army.
Violence spread across the country last week following an attack on peaceful protesters at Galle Face.
Mobs had gone on the rampage attacking properties linked to the Rajapaksa family and those close to them. (Colombo Gazette)
