Sri Lankans advised not to purchase fuel from third parties
ECONOMYNEXT – Third party fuel vendors in Sri Lanka have been found to mix petroleum products with other liquids and sell them at rates higher than the market price, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said on Monday (23) warning the public against purchasing fuel from such businesses.
In a tweet posted Monday morning, Wijesekara asked the public to report such vendors.
Request the public not purchase petroleum products from 3rd parties. Investigations have reveled that individuals engaged in collecting fuel, mix petroleum products with other liquids to sell at higher rates. Urge the public not to encourage such businesses and to report them.
