Sri Lanka stocks slip in mid-day trade on Wednesday
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks slipped within the first hour of trade on Wednesday (01) as a liquid index fell over 1 percent, dragged down by weak sentiments following the decision to hike rates up to 2019 levels.
The main All Share Price index fell 0.8 percent or 68.43 points to at 8,039.66 by 1140 hrs.
The liquid S&P SL20 index slipped 1.1 percent or 29.64 points to 2,649.69.
Market generated a turnover of 831 million rupees.
Top losers were Expolanka, John Keells and Commercial Bank.
