USD 34 million paid for heavy furnace oil
Sri Lanka has made a payment of USD 34 million for furnace oil which will be used for power generation, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.
The Minister said that USD 34 million was paid yesterday for a cargo of heavy fuel oil/furnace oil.
“It will be unloaded today and will be used for power generation and industries,” the Minister tweeted
He said the Government hopes to maintain the 2 and half hour power cut as it is until the Norochcholai coal power plant is connected back to the national grid. (Colombo Gazette)
