UK Parliamentary delegation meets the Speaker
The British Parliamentary deputation on a visit to Sri Lanka meets Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. Their discussions centred on the development taking place in the island.
The delegation on a week’s tour of the island met the Speaker at the Parliamentary Complex today. The meeting drew attention to the situation prevailing in the island after the dawn of peace and the development that is now in progress.
Meanwhile the delegation also met Deputy Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama for talks. The Deputy Minister told them that Sri Lanka is well positioned in her economic growth and reaching an eight percent growth rate as targeted. Their meeting took place at the Finance Ministry. The Deputy Minister said doors for investments in Sri Lanka are opened and there could be no doubts for investors to commence business enterprises or projects since the war has now drawn to a close.
