End of an Era: Kumar Sangakkara signs off from Test Cricket
Kumar Sangakkara, who got out for 18 in his final Test innings, ends as the fifth-highest run-getter in the Test Cricket format. Sangakkara played from 2000 till 2015 and scored 12,400 runs in 134 Tests with 38 Hundreds and 52 Fifties with the highest score at 319. He scored at an average of 57.40. He also took 131 catches and did 20 stumping.
The Sri Lankan great follows Sachin Tendulkar of India, Ricky Ponting of Australia, Jacques Kallis of South Africa and Rahul Dravid of India in the all-time list of leading Test scorers.
Sangakkara had already taken retirement from the ODIs. He scored 14,234 runs in 404 ODIs with 25 Hundreds and 93 Fifties at an average of 41.98. He played 56 T20 International matches and scored 1,382 runs with 8 fifties.
