Bribery Commission annulled
According to political sources President Maithripala Sirisena would take measures to annul the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Monday (31st).
The President has taken this decision after considering the manner the Commission acted regarding complaints about frauds and corruption and the number of legal action the Commission had taken.
The sources also say after dissolving the existing Commission the President would establish on Thursday (3rd) a Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption with full powers as given in the 19th amendment to the Constitution. The new Commission will accept complaints against the present Chairman of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption as well.
