Compensation assessment for victims of Uma Oya Project reaches final phase
The assessment for the provision of compensation to houses and crops that were affected by the Uma Oya Project has arrived at the end of the final phase.
Secretary of the Environment and Mahaweli Development Ministry Nihal Rupasinghe said that the damage assessment of 170 families have arrived at completion.
The Secretary said that more than 500 families are still to be evaluated in this regard and added that such plans are to be completed within the next few weeks.
Rs. 600 million has been earmarked for the simultaneous provision of compensation to all.
