How can Sri Lankan charities find international donors and partners?

NFF will not be a part of any political journey with the UNP: Wimal Weeranwasa

- newsfirst.lk

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo on Sunday, Leader of the National Freedom Front ,Wimal Weeranwasa noted that they will not be part of any political journey with the United National Party.

The Leader of NFF said:

It is true the United National Party obtained the highest number of seats but only by 113 but this means that if we are to create a National Government then the Sri Lanka Freedom Party must become stake-holders in the government and there will be no need for an opposition. Even if parties hold positions in the government or not, they will all become stake holders in the government. However, such political streams do not become so-called stake holders in the government not even the Sri Lanka Freedom party. So, then how is it that they can bring forth a proposal that they will be able to increase the number of ministerial portfolios in parliament? Because you cannot implement such a proposal and bringing in such a proposal is contradictory to the constitution.

Expressing his view on the seat of opposition leader, Wimal Weerawansa stated that it is the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party who should be selected as the opposition leader. He questioned “how can we form a national government when the opposition leader will get a ministerial post and members from the Sri Lanka freedom party will be given the choice to go to the other side.” He added that this process is becoming a wonder of the world.

He went on to question if this isn’t a calculated measure to sneak around the constitution?.
