Prof. Wijesuriya tells ills of Mahinda at SLFP convention

- lankatruth.com

Mahinda Rajapaksa who did an important task by ending the war did a serious damage to the SLFP by attempting to extend his term of office said Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya of Colombo University making the guest speech at the SLFP convention held at Polonnaruwa.

When this speech was made the incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena as well as former President Kurunegala MP Mahinda Rajapaksa was seated next to each other on the stage.

He also spoke about benefits to the party during the leaderships of S.W.R.D. Bandaranayke to Maithripala Sirisena.

He said, “After Chandrika Bandaranayke the leadership of the party went to Mahinda Rajapaksa. We cannot forget the affective development to the country under that leadership.  We remember with respect. He gets this respect from the people for this act. However, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaka too made a mistake like Ms. Bandaranayke did by attempting to extend her tenure by two years.  As an outsider I see the fate the SLFP has been acquired due to this mistake is regrettable.”
