Ananadasanagaree Congratulates Sampanthan
( September 3, 2015, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) It may not be out of place if I mention here about a long standing grievance I have against you, that brought my honest political carrier of more than half a century to zero. Redressing my grievance should clear any obstacle that you may have on your way. I hope you will recall that I was not defeated in a straight fight and would have survived longer if that group’s support was not made available to yo, V. Ananadasanagree, Secretary General – TULF , said in an open letter to the R.Sampanthan,Leader of the Opposition

Hon. R.Sampanthan,
Leader of the Opposition,
D, Summit Flats,
Colombo – 8
My Dear Sam,
Please accept my heartiest Congratulations on your assumption of office as the Leader of the Opposition. I hope you will make use of this opportunity to help the National Government to find an early solution for the ethnic problem. You have assumed this office in a friendly and a completely changed atmosphere. Seeing the spirit in which the Members of Parliament belonging to different Political Parties, have vouched to give their co-operation to the Hon. Prime Minister and His Excellency the President, I too have changed my mind to congratulate you and offer you my full co-operation, although initially I was opposed to your appointment. Seeing the good gesture displayed by the Ex-President attending the swearing in ceremony of the Prime Minister and both the former and, the President Presidents seated side by side at their Party’s 64th convention, you and I should have felt ashamed of our behavior, for not meeting or seeing each other or even consulting each other on crucial matters that concern our people. We behave as if the ethnic problem is personally ours. I don’t think we have anything personal against each other.
It may not be out of place if I mention here about a long standing grievance I have against you, that brought my honest political carrier of more than half a century to zero. Redressing my grievance should clear any obstacle that you may have on your way. I hope you will recall that I was not defeated in a straight fight and would have survived longer if that group’s support was not made available to you. This incident had caused serious damage to a political party of great repute. It is on the name you obtained illegally with the help of this illegal organization that you and the TNA are still thriving on. Most Members of Parliament of the present generation, who belong to the government do not know this part of the history. This includes most of your Member of Parliament and local bodies too. But you could not have forgotten this.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Anandasangaree,
Secretary General – TULF
