Sep 04, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister and Minister of National Policy and Economic Affairs Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the unity government with the ministers appointed today plans to try out a new system for the country.

“We are here to work for at least for a period of two years forgetting all the narrow political personnel gains,” Wickremesinghe said at the swearing in ceremony of Ministers on Friday at presidential secretariat.

“So we are going to try out a new system for the country.”

He added the former government did not have an agreement on the policies and systems but with the new unity government, Sri Lanka would be able to face pressures both local and international.

“Now we have to re – think about the politics that we are doing,”

“We are in the process of forming parliamentary committee system by getting the support from all the parties and members of the parliament.”

“Our aim is to have a 10 year national policy.”
