Met Dept predicts a rainy Sunday
According to the Met Department, the Northern and Southern hemispheric winds convergence zone, lies north of Sri Lanka affecting weather over Northern Province.
It is expected to move Southward gradually causing more showers with lightning activities over the country. Another spell of showery and windy weather is expected in the Southwestern part from Monday.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern Province and several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
The Met Department added that there may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers. The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
