( October 9, 2015, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) More than 15 instances of telephone conversations have taken place between the owner of Avan Garde and the Attorney General’s Department reveals the Leader of the JVP Anura Dissanayaka.

Mr. Dissanayaka revealed this participating in a Parliamentary debate held today (8th) to strengthen bilateral relations with China.

He said there is no proper process of recruitment in AG’s Department. AG’s Department was completely taken over by the political authority. It was Deputy Solicitor General Wasantha Nawaratna Bandara who carried out investigations regarding Avant Garde. At a discussion where the Prime Minister too was present he said his service was 30 years. He said in all the investigations he had carried out during the 30 years the most corrupt transaction he had come across was Avant Garde. He named five people including the owner of Avant Garde and former defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. He said they should be arrested and investigated. He said the five could be charged under three Acts which are Firearms Ordinance, Explosives Act and Prevention of Terrorism Act.

However, the AG tells the court not to try them under any criminal law. There have been more than 15 telephone conversations that have taken place between Avant Garde owner and the AG’s office. The CID has investigation and has all the details.”
