Sri Lanka to Make History at the Pan-continental International Beauty Pageant
The Mister and Miss Pancontinental 2015 has been incorporated as an inaugural international beauty pageant to be held in November, 2015 in Manila, Philippines and thereafter as an annual event. It is conceptualized as the most prestigious pageant, created to bring people of various communities and cultures from all over the world to converge, to share common values and foster international friendship and understanding. The pageant simultaneously searches for the world’s best ambassadors to promote their respective countries in furtherance of tourism, international goodwill and cultures furthermore promote the official cause of the pageant “diabetes awareness”. The Event is being organized as part of promoting tourism of the Philippines, and creating awareness among youth about diabetes and to educate people on how being diabetic can be a lifestyle instead of considering it a disease and related issues concerning today’s world.
With the participation of many countries around the world, Prassanna Pathmanathan the founding CEO of the Colombo Fashion Council, the well-known fashion consultant cum beauty pageant expert and a Chartered Marketer is appointed by the organizers of Mister and Miss Pan-continental as the Sri Lankan National Director to select, train and prepare the representations from Sri Lanka to compete in this prestigious pageant. With his training expertise around the world, the pageant organizers have appointed Prassanna as the official pageant trainer to train on the personalities and leadership of the contestants and also as the finale choreographer and the show producer for Mister and Miss Pancontinental 2015.
In search for the contestants to represent Sri Lanka, Prassanna said “I was very keen in selecting a Mister and Miss Sri Lanka who does not only possess good looks, height and a great physique but, also have a great personality, ability communicate well, knowledgeable about healthy living and diabetes and have greater qualities of representing the country in the international arena. As a result after set of interviews and search Anuj Ranasinghe was announced as the Mister Sri Lanka for Mister Pancontinental and Kishani Alanki Perera was announced as the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Pancontinental 2015.
Anuj Ranasinghe is a very confident ramp model, a TV presenter, Actor and an Entrepreneur. He’s an international pageant veteran where he started his modeling career in 2010 where he emerged as the winner of the best male model of Sri Lanka and went to compete at the International best male model world pageant in Madrid Spain and emerged as the 1st runners up. Anuj also represented Sri Lanka in Mr. International 2011 pageant and has reached top 15. It’s also notable that he has a first class Honors degree from University of Greenwich.
Kishani is a well-known actress and TV Anchor in Sri Lanka. However, she was keen to be a human rights Lawyer and therefore pursued and completed her degree in law from University of London. She is immensely loved by the youth in Sri Lanka and looked upon as a role model not only for being a TV personality but also for her commitment to charity and community work. In fact she was named as an ambassador of the Foundation of Goodness which is a reputed local NGO due to her contributions to underprivileged children and has been fundraising every month for donations to help kids in rural areas of Sri Lanka to get a good education. Both Anuj and Kishani mentioned that they are extremely proud of representing Sri Lanka on the global platform and they are working very hard in all the aspects to be above the rest of the contestants to give a tight competition in this beauty pageant.
