Tourist Arrivals Increase In January
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has stated that the tourist arrivals in the country has seen a 46.2 percent increase in January this year in comparison to the corresponding period last year.
SLTDA statistics have recorded 74,197 tourist arrivals in January this year while the number of arrivals last January stood at 50,757.
The Authority’s monthly statistics chart states that tourist arrivals from Western Europe has increase to 53.7 percent with 32,627 arrivals. Arrivals from the South Asian region has been recorded at 17, 900, which is a 42.9 percent increase.
Arrivals from East Asia has been recorded at 7,269 and 4,276 from the USA and Canada.
