The Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee has imposed a two year suspension on former Test Cricketer and current curator of the Galle International Cricket Stadium, Jayananda Warnaweera.

Issuing a statement on Monday, the SLC noted that the two-year ban had been imposed as Jayananda Warnaweera had failed to appear before the International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption Unit in connection with an ongoing investigation, on two occasions.

The conditions of the ban entail that Warnaweera will be prohibited from participating in any cricket, cricket management and representation for a period of two years.

The statement further reads that the decision was taken in line with the constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket.
