The Ministry of Education says vouchers will be made available to purchase uniforms for school students before the end of the month.
Secretary W.M.Bandusena said based on the age group of the students, various vouchers will be issued.
He said that students would be able to obtain the vouchers from their respective school principals, and use them to procure fabric from a recognised fabric trader.
Hence, the system of providing fabric for uniforms will be replaced. There are nearly 4.2 million school students across the country.
