Focus on export-led growth at Chartered Marketer-Fellowship Investiture
The Chartered Marketer/Fellowship Investiture 2015 and the 20th anniversary celebrations were held under the auspices of the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Karu Jayasuriya in Colombo on the night of Tuesday, November 24.
Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya stated that President Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickemesinghe has realised the importance of emphasising on the growth which will take the country forward.
He went on to note that the it is a big policy for the government since their role would be providing infrastructure but the creation of wealth will be in the hands of the new government.
He said that he recalls President Premadasa who gave the highest emphasis to set up Sri Lanka’s first ever international export fair by targeting 1001 customers.
He further stated:
They shared tremendous success as they had over 5600 foreign visitors taking part in the Expo 1992. But it was not followed thereafter.
