Former president expresses views on the budget
The former president Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking in Tangalle, regarding the 2016 budget, said:
When you look at the burden from the perspective of the people, it is a little too much. I went to the Weeraketiya market yesterday. Capsicum is Rs.400 rupees there.
He added:
Everyone is from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and we are all from the SLFP. But there are those who favour the budget: and then there are those who don’t. So, those who do not favour it can say that they don’t, while those who favour it, can say that they do. Because there is freedom in the party for individual opinions.
