3 million Packets of tea for the affected people in Japan
Sri Lanka will dispatch three million packets of tea for the affected people in Japan.
The stock of tea is worth 60,000 US dollars. It was donated by the Sri Lanka Tea Exporters Association. Several packs were presented to the President today at the Temple Trees to symbolize the occasion. The President said that the Japanese people, hit by the earthquake and tsunami will be provided all necessary assistance. The Tea Exporters Association has made the donation on a request made by the President. Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and a group of employees of the Tea Board also participated in the occasion.
