Fastest couple in South Asia from SL
Himasha Eshan and Rumeshika Ratnayake became the fastest male and female in South Asia when they won 100 meter events for both male and females at the South Asian Games at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Guwahati in India yesterday (9th).
Himasha Eshan won the 100 metres event in a record time of 10.28 seconds breaking the Asian record of 10.37 seconds set up by Anil Kumar of India and Sri Lanka's record of 10.29 seconds by Chinthaka de Soyza set in the 1999 SA Games in Chennai.Himasha Eshan is still 19 years old.
Rumeshika Ratnayake won the women’s 100 meters event in a time of 11.71 seconds pushing India's Subhani Thandra into second place in a hard fought fight.
