UNP: Govt. Yet To Pay IIFA Dues
The UNP says the government is yet to make payments on expenses incurred during the IIFA film awards last year.
UNP parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake said the government owed millions of rupees to three five star hotels for providing accommodation and other facilities during the IIFA awards ceremony.
The three hotels are Hilton Colombo, Cinnamon Grand Hotel and Cinnamon Lakeside.
Karunanayake has said the government had to pay bills amounting to Rs.72 million to the Cinnamon Grand Hotel and Rs. 29 million to the Cinnamon Lakeside.
The parliamentarian has pointed out that over a year after the IFFA awards; the government was yet to make payments.
