India out of T20 World Cup final
West Indies registered a final berth in the ICC World T20 after defeating India by 7 wickets. Lendl Simmons and Johnson Charles guided the Caribbean team to the win by scoring half centuries apiece.
Lendl Simmons produced one of the greatest innings to stun India and set up a meeting with England in the World T20 final.
Simmons smashed 83 as the West Indies chased down 193 with two balls remaining with Andre Russell depositing Virat Kohli into the crowd for the winning runs.
Earlier Kohli himself had starred continuing his imperious form at this tournament with an unbeaten 89 off just 63 as India set what looked to be a very competitive total.
However, for the dismay of Indian fans West Indies kept their cool and reached the winning score despite the ealry exit of Chris Gayle and without needing Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy or Carlos Brathwaite to bat for them.
The T20 World Cup final between England and West Indies will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkatta on Sunday the 3rd.
