Richland 2 is expected to sign a contract this week with M.B. Kahn Construction Co. to lay groundwork for a new $14 million district office, although board members say there is no agreement among members to proceed with construction.
“Not every board member is on board with this,” board member Susan Brill said last week. “We will just see where the process leads us. Not everybody is gung-ho about doing it.”
Still, board chair Stephanie Burgess said “the consensus is we need to do something.”
“We are just not sure what that is,” Burgess added.
The contract would call for spending up to $500,000 to develop plans that could include a new district office, expansion or retrofitting of the current Brookfield Road offices or some combination. Other details about the contract have not been released.
