Minister John Amaratunga announces venue of UNP May Day Rally

It was revealed on Friday that the United National Party will be having its May Day Rally in Campbell Park, Colombo.

Minister John Amaratunga made the announcement while speaking to reporters in Colombo on Friday, where he stated that every single organisation,  the president and prime Minister will be informed about the rally in Campbell Park

The Minister of Tourism Development, Land and Christian Affairs noted that this time the organisation of the rally will be done in a manner where crowds from village level will come together like never before and this will be not be limited to mere words  – and will be put in to action

Journalists raised question over allegations that the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita which had been booked to organise the May Day Rally of the Joint Opposition not being granted. The Minister noted that the issue was not where they meet, but where the meeting will be taking place – and they have been given permission.
