FCID summons Yoshitha Rajapaksa
Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of the former president, arrived at the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division to provide a statement on Friday, following a court order.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa was summoned over allegations made that he had intervened to purchase lands surrounding a house in Mihindu Mawatha, Mount Lavinia said to belong to Shiranthi Rajapaksam for a sum of Rs.50 million, under the name of his grandmother.
Earlier, court informed Yoshitha Rajapaksa, and a woman said to be his grandmother, to appear before the FCID on a day between April 4 and 9 to provide a statement in this regard. However, submitting a motion, they requested for a separate date to appear before the FCID and thereby arrived at the FCID on Friday, April 22.
