Students demanding abolishment of Malabe pseudo degree shop attacked with tear gas & water cannon
A protest march organized by the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee to demand authorities to abolish Malabe private medical school was attacked with tear gas and water cannon.
The continuous ‘Sathyagraha’ carried out by medical students calling to ‘Abolish Malabe pseudo degree shop’ and against private medical schools has continued for 100 days. The authorities have been mum about this issue and the protest march was carried out to awaken the authorities who are in a deep slumber.
Students who were to march to the Presidential Secretariat were halted at Lotus roundabout by the police and were attacked with tear gas and water cannon.
According to student leaders several students were injured and had to get medical treatment.
