Woman dies upon admission to Katugastota Hospital; husband surrenders to police

A mother of one was found dead in the Gabadagama area in Polgollawatte, Kandy. The victim’s husband is suspected of murdering the woman.

The victim’s sister says that the suspected husband had given a phone call to the victim at around 06:30 on Sunday evening. The locals rushed the woman to hospital but she died upon admission to the Katugastota Regional Hospital.

Our correspondent reported that the suspect had surrendered to the Wattegama Police after the murder.

Meanwhile, a person was shot dead in Wedimulla area in Neluwa, Galle last night. The victim was a resident of the area. Police stated that the victim was identified as 29-year-old Athura Liyanage Kapila.

Police stated that the perpetrator has been identified.
