The Democratic Party also celebrated May Day today, Sunday, May 1.

The parade began in Rajagiriya, under the leadership of Democratic Party leader, Minister and Field Marshal, Sarath Fonseka. The parade arrived at the Buddhadasa Grounds via the Parliament Roundabout, where the rally was held.

Leader of the Democratic Party, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka noted that the party has always stood by decisions which benefit low income earners, the middle class and working people. And today it was decided to hold this May Day rally, to honour these people who work tirelessly and face many hardships.
