COPE reports on fraudsters to Parliament
The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has decided to forward four reports revealing individuals who have defrauded public money through Ceylon Electricity Board and Srilankan Airways.
The President of COPE JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunneththi has said the Speaker would be recommended through these reports to hold investigations to punish the perpetrators through the CID and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
He said frauds carried out at Ceylon Electricity Board and Srilankan Airlines could be considered as plunders by carried out privately but there are powerful politicians behind the plunderers.
