Thevarapperuma & Ranaweera banned for a week
The Parliament has adopted a proposal today (5th) to ban Deputy Minister Palitha Thevarapperuma and UPFA Parliamentarian from Kegalle District Prasanna Ranaweera who have been identified as directly responsible for the clash that occurred in Parliament on the 3rd a week each from Parliamentary sessions.
The decision has been taken at the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs that met today at 9.00 a.m. and the relevant proposal was presented to Parliament by the Speaker.
Accordingly, they would be barred from attending Parliamentary sessions for a week from tomorrow. The two were not present in Parliament today.
