SUN FM presents Arash live in concert at the Excel World Open Air Arena on 9 December, keeping its promise of uplifting the quality of entertainment in Sri Lanka, and once again proving its prowess, by bringing down not just yet another star, but his entire seven-man band and his stunning female vocalist, Rebecca – in the wake of successful concerts this year with top artists such as RIO, Artful Dodger and Edward Maya.

Tickets for the concert will be available at Rs. 1000, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 3000 (VIP tickets) denominations and will be available at the Hilton Lobby and at Excel World. Keep listening to SUN FM on 98.8 in Colombo, 93.5 Kandy, 106.7 Downsouth, 103.2 Rajarata, 90.2 Nuwara Eliya and 92.8 Islandwide to win free tickets to the concert or “like” SUN FM’s official fan page on Facebook.
Born in Iran, Arash moved to Sweden at the tender age of ten, where he continues to reside and work as an Iranian-Swedish singer, dancer, entertainer and producer. Choosing to sing in his native language, Arash attributes this to his “deep attachment to Iran and Persian culture.”
Receiving many accolades and recognition from top global entities, Arash was recently named Sweden’s most successful debut artist in 2005 at the International Music Market in Cannes, France. His number one smash hit, ‘Boro Boro’ was featured in the Bollywood blockbuster ‘BluffMaster.’
Sports Illustrated tabbed his FIFA World Cup ballad ‘an ode to his native country’s national soccer team’ as one of the top three such songs of the year, a distinction shared by pop musician Ricky Martin a few years earlier. In 2006, he won two Grammys in Russia and was recognized as the top import artist in all of Russia.
In 2008, he released Donya “The Album” with the singles “Donya” a duet with Shaggy, “Pure Love” a duet with Helena and in 2009 he participated in Eurovision “The World’s Biggest Music Competition’ where he landed third place.
