Boxing legend Muhammad Ali hospitalized
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been hospitalized according to statement by his family.
Ali is being treated by his team of doctors for a respiratory issue and is in fair condition. Ali who is 74 years old, suffres from Parkinson’s disease and was previously hospitalized in January 2015 with a urinary tract infection. He also was hospitalized in December 2014 with pneumonia.
Ali has stayed out of the limelight in the recent years but was once renowned for his speed and talent in the ring as well as for his social activism.
Born as Cassius Clay, he won an Olympic gold medal as a light-heavyweight in 1960 and four years later (1964) defeated Sonny Liston by KO in the seventh round to become the World Heavyweight Champion, the same year when the champ converted and joined the Nation of Islam, changing his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali
