Cargills launches South African Bokomo Breakfast cereals

Cargills (Ceylon) PLC, member of CT Holdings Group, has introduced a new range of high quality South African Breakfast Cereals to its Cargills Food City chain of supermarkets, the Bokomo range of South African breakfast cereals, highly rated across the world for its quality and freshness.
Bokomo foods was originally launched in 1920 when seven farmers in the Western Cape formed the De BoerenKo- operatieweMolenMaatschappiBeperk (The Farmers Co-operative Milling Company Limited). Today Bokomo is the number one cereal brand in South Africa.

Commenting on the newly introduced product range, Sumit Law, Director Commercial of Millers Limited, the mass market distribution arm of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC said, “The key to the success of Bokomo has been its in-depth understanding of consumer needs in today’s fast paced lifestyles.

Bokomo carries out in-depth research in their process of product development and has extensive expertise in nutritional science. Their factories are equipped with ultra-modern technology and Bokomo is the only South African factory to receive the coveted NOSA International Top 100 Safety Award, twice.”
Cargills Food City Staple Street was the first outlet to recently unveil the Bokomo range in Sri Lanka under the patronage of Geoff Doidge, the South African High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, and M. Imtias Abdul Wahid, Managing Director, Cargills.  Doidge commenting on the launch said, “An excellent choice from the Bokomo range has been made available in Sri Lanka and I am delighted to see the positive reaction from the customers. I am confident this move would further strengthen the trade ties between Sri Lanka and South Africa whilst paving the way for a mutually beneficial relationship between Cargills and Bokomo.”
He added that Bokomo has selected the ideal partner for their entry into Sri Lanka.

He added that this top of the line range of breakfast cereals would be available at select outlets in the first phase of introduction while the availability and range would expand in line with consumer demand.
