Corporate athletism programme to be launched to the private sector

Each year globally the top four business professionals in a country who practice the values of Rotary, gets selected for a Group study exchange programmes(GSE) to different parts of the world by Rotary International.
Some of the countries that Sri Lanka have partnered are Brazil, UK, Scotland, India, Japan, Korea, United States to name a few.

In Sri Lanka, this selected group of business professionals who come under the banner of Rotary GSE Alumni has appointed one of Sri Lanka’s top professionals Rohantha Athukorala of the United Nations (UNOPS) as their new President for year 2011-12.
Athukorala represented Sri Lanka in the 1996/7 Group Study Exchange team to the United States together with Nalaka Godahewa the current Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism, Ranjan De Silva a World Prize winning Marketer and top Surgeon Dr. Dianne Sinnathamby.
The team was led by respected Corporate Personality Tissa Bandaranayake a Senior Partner at Ernest and Young.
On assuming his duty as the new President said, “I am humble for this appointment and let me thank renowned philanthropist Kushil Gunesekera for inspiring me to be part of the GSE Rotary team and former Distruct Governor Tissa Bandaranayake for the guidance given in the life of Rotary and my mentor Eardley Perera.”
In the outline of the key activities for the year Athukorala  said that launching of the Corporate Athletism programme will highlight this years alumni agenda given that the membership consist of the cream of business professionals in the country.
