COPE to summon four state institutions over ‘irregularities’
Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), MP Sunil Handunnetti says that four state institutions will be summoned to COPE during the course of the coming week.
Handunnetti said that the state institutions to be summoned are Sri Lanka Cricket, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, Football Federation of Sri Lanka, and the National Lotteries Board.
Speaking to News 1st, MP Handunnetti said that, based on the reports issued by the Auditor General’s Department, the four state institutes are being summoned in order to inquire into their current state of operation as well as to inquire into certain financial transactions that took place in the past. He said that they will also be discussing the future plans of these institutions.
