Speaking at a ceremony at the Mawanella Provincial Council Auditorium, the President said that though there are some who say that large development projects took place during the previous government, at present the country is suffering from a debt burden of Rs. 9 trillion.
The President noted that as the new government, the debt has to be repaid and ensured that the present government perform the duties and responsibilities accordingly.
“In order to develop the country everyone must come together. We cannot build the country by merely being divided,” said the President
