The meeting between the Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and President Maithripala Sirisena took place this morning (August 12th) at the Presidential Secretariat.
According to the Presidents Media Division, the Norwegian Prime Minister had noted that her country would support increased corporation in Hydro Power Generation, the Fisheries Industry as well as Information Technology in Sri Lanka.
Solberg expressed her appreciation over the steps taken by the current government to strengthen democracy, reconciliation and development and praised the tourism industry in Sri Lanka adding that Sri Lanka is one of Norway’s major Tourist Destinations.
According to the Presidents Media Division, the Norwegian Prime Minister was quoted as saying that Norway hopes enhace Foreign Direct Investments in Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake were among those present at the meeting.
