Murali back in Gloucestershire
(News360.lk) Sri Lankan spin legend Muttaiah Muralitharan will go back to Gloucestershire this year to play a part in the country’s Friends Life T20 Campaign, says a media report.
Murali who played for the county taking part in the Friends Provident T20 during the last season bagged 12 wickets.
“As a side we are delighted that Murali is returning,” Gloucestershire’s director of cricket, John Bracewell, has told the media, says Crickinfo.
Bracewell has also said the presence of Murali during the last season was invaluable, given the shortness of the T20 game.
The 39 year old Muralitharan who took 800 test wickets played a part in the New Zealand’s domestic Twenty20 Championship, held recently.
The off spinner has also taken 534 ODI wickets and was a part of Sri Lanka’s 1996 World cup winning team, which was led by Arjuna Ranatunga.
