Two former directors of SL Tourism Promotion Bureau remanded
Two former directors of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau were remanded until September 8 after they were produced before Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
Former directors Nilmini Nanayakkara and Mervin Fernandopulle were charged with defrauding five million rupees and criminal breach of trust.
The suspects were produced in court after they were arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division. Former Director of the Tourism Promotion Authority Kithsiri Ranawake was also arrested by the Police FCID.
He was produced before the Fort Magistrate and was ordered to be remanded until September 6. He is accused of directing Rs.5.7 million from the Tourism Promotion Authority for activities related to the Uva Provincial Council Polls.
