Sri Lanka entertains the Children of fallen war heroes
Sri Lanka recently entertained nearly hundred Children of the army soldiers who either lost their lives or became disabled during the three decade conflict in the country.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka Tourism took the children hailing from rural areas such as Padaviya, Ratnapura and Kuruwita on a sight seeing tour around the capital city of Colombo.
SLT says, for some Children this was their first visit to the Capital City.
The tour was conducted on a two open deck double deck coaches and saw the Children been taken to important places in the city of Colombo.
Among the places the children were taken are, Gangarama Seema Malakaya, the Independence Square and the National Museum with Galle Face Hotel providing with Foods and beverages to the Children.
Children were also taken to several other places in the city including a visit to the Vihara Maha Devi Park.
This initiative was aimed at marking the second year anniversary of the Colombo City Tour, a joint project of SLT and Ebert Silva Holidays.
Sri Lanka lost thousands of soldiers and thousands faced serious body injuries during the three decade conflict, which ended in year 2009.
