Yoshitha Rajapaksa appears before the FCID
Responding to a question raised by JVP MP Nalinda Herath, Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe revealed in parliament that he had spent an amount exceeding five million rupees for overseas visits after the presidential elections.
Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe stated that from January 8, 2015 to date as the Minster of Justice he has made 12 overseas visits and as the Minister of Buddasasana, four overseas visits along with an total expenditure of up to Rs. 5,143,602.
Meanwhile, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother Daisy Forest appeared before the police financial crimes division.
Statements were recorded in connection to a plot of land in Dehiwala, following an order issued by the Mount Lavinia Courts. According to our correspondent, the duo were questioned for nearly four hours.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa noted that he was asked to bring the deeds of the land which was given to him by his mother.
